Welcome to the Napier Civic Choir 2024 Season.

 

The monumental work of Bach’s B minor Mass is the centre of gravity of this year’s programme. A work that inspires awe and respect for any choral society and that has been requested for years by members of the choir. Accompanying this iconic piece this year we will perform the Sunrise Mass by Ola Gjeilo, in a programme dedicated to Scandinavian composers, and Handel’s beautiful Israel in Egypt, later on in the year.

 

The orchestra will do the honours as always performing three orchestral programmes in between the choral ones. Highlights of these programmes are the Lark Ascending played by Yanghe Yu and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.2 played by Sylvia Jiang.

 

Another year of wonderful community spirit that we should cherish and enjoy to the maximum.
